Wyatt (Billy) Talmadge Williams

yatt Talmadge “Bill” Williams, 85, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2011. He was born May 14, 1925 in Wilson County. He was the son of the late Carter Granville and Thelma Corbett Williams.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Letha Mae Joyner Williams of the home; son, Al Williams and wife Peggy of Battleboro, daughter, Lea Ann Rodgers and husband Buddy of Fredericksburg, VA; sister, Louise Joyner; grandchildren, Kelly Williams, Sheri Franklin, BJ Rodgers; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Billy was a charter member of Tarheel RC Flyers and owner and operator of The Hobby Shop in Rocky Mount.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Johnson Funerals and Cremations on English. A funeral service will follow at 3 pm in Johnson’s Chapel with Rev. Brandon Dees officiating. Committal services will be at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615 or Alzheimer’s Association, 3737 Glenwood Avenue, Suite 100, Raleigh, NC 27612.
