Willie Davis Powell

Willie Davis Powell, 83, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999. He was born August 20, 1916 in Nash County, son of the late Julius Davis and Lulu Pope Powell. Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his wife, Gracie Vick Powell. He was a charter member of North Rocky Mount Church of God.
Surviving: daughters and sons-in-law, Inez and Alton Braid of Rocky Mount, and Judy and Dwain Pyeact of Lancaster, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Judy Powell of Rocky Hill, S.C.; sisters, Viola Vick of Rocky Mount and Betty Powell of Red Oak, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and special friend Dalphine Pridgen of Rocky Mount.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at North Rocky Mount Church of God with the Rev. Victor Roberson and the Rev. Dwain Pyeact officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home, Sunset Avenue.
