RAYMOND Q. “SONNY BOY” WEBB, 67, DIED MONDAY, MARCH 3, 1997 AT NASH GENERAL HOSPITAL.
HE WAS BORN MAY 26, 1929, IN WILSON COUNTY, SON OF THE LATE JULIUS B. AND MATTIE LEE WEBB AND WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY A SISTER, LUCILLE POOLE. HE WAS RETIRED FROM BOTH THE US AIR FORCE AND ABBOTT LABS.
SURVIVING: WIFE, CAROL JONES WEBB OF THE HOME; SON, CLAYTON “BO” BARNES OF ROCKY MOUNT; DAUGHTER, GLENDA ALLEN OF PINETOPS, MARILYN W. GARDNER OF ENFILED, SUSAN W. GRASS AND JACKIE W. HOLDER, BOTH OF FOLDSBORO, CANDICE W. HOLLAMON OF SWANSBORO AND KATHY WEBB OF ORLANDO, FL.; BROTHERS; J.B. WEBB OF JARRET, VA., DONALD WEBB OF MACCLESFIELD, FRANK WEBB OF WILSON, AND SIDNEY WEBB OF SANDY CROSS; SISTERS, FRANCES ENGLISH AND JESSIE WILLIAMS, BOTH OF ROCKY MOUNT, HORTENSE BEAMON OF WILSON, NANNY MALLOY OF GALVESTON, TX., LINDA HAYNES OF LAS VEGAS, NEV., AND DORIS BOSWELL OF GRIFTON; ONE AUNT, VELMA BRYANT OF WILSON AND TWELVE GRANDCHILDREN.
FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE 4PM WEDNESDAY AT JOHNSON FUNERAL HOME, SUNSET AVE., WITH REV. SIDNEY WEBB OFFICIATING. BURIAL WITH MILITARY HONORS WILL FOLLOW IN ROCKY MOUNT MEMORIAL PARK.
THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS 7-8:30PM TUESDAY AT JOHNSON FUNERAL HOME, SUNSET AVE., AND OTHER TIMES AT THE HOME, 1012 COMPASS CREEK DRIVE, ROCKY MOUNT.
