Patricia Jane Bulluck''Pat'' Boone

ROCKY MOUNT – Heaven received an angel when Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Jane Bulluck Boone, age 81, was called home on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Born in Rocky Mount on March 14, 1942, she was the daughter of the late James Frederick Bulluck, Sr. and Eva Mae Lee Bulluck. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, the love of her life for eternity, Albert Edward Boone, Sr.; her sister, Charlotte Bulluck Browning (Bob); her sisters-in-law, Nancy Shearon and Doris Brown (Frank); and her brother-in-law, Phil Zelesnick.

Pat enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and church friends. She was an active member of her church, Sunset Avenue Baptist Church, singing in the choir and caring for the children’s nursery for years. When she was not with family or at church, she enjoyed shopping at Belk for the latest trends, hiding some from Albert. Her grandchildren will never forget her as a “Mema” who made them feel special and loved and never hungry for their favorite food or snack. As a matter of fact, Mema is probably holding, feeding, and playing with all the children in Heaven as we speak. A loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many, Pat will be forever missed and never forgotten.

Pat leaves to cherish her memory her son, Albert “Bert” Edward Boone, Jr. (Karen Fitzhenry Boone); her daughter, Virginia “Ginger” Elizabeth Boone; and her grandchildren, Patrick Fitzhenry Boone, Bridget Marie Boone, Hunter Elizabeth Andrews, Joshua Braxton Andrews, and adopted granddaughter Tabitha Wilcox. She will also be missed by her loving brother and sisters, Jimmy and Beverly Bulluck, Sylvia and John Fisher, and Linda Zelesnick; brothers-in-law, Phillip Boone (Carol) and Joe Shearon; as well as many nieces, nephews, and special friends, each of whom hold special memories of love for Pat.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Sunset Avenue Baptist Church, 3732 Sunset Ave, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, with Pastor Dr. Robin Fisher officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum. The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804, and other times at the home of Bert and Karen Boone.

The family would like to say a special thank you to staff at The Jane at Tarboro, Gentiva Hospice of Tarboro and Rocky Mount, and her caregivers when she could be at home, Felicite Sanders, Tiffany Copeland, Susanne Morgan, Jennifer Warrick, and Lisa Parker.
