Patricia Dawn Bridges

Patricia “Dawn” Bridges, age 48, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, January 27, 2019, at Nash Health Care Systems. She was born on May 13, 1970 in Rocky Mount. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Rev. Pete Bridges “Poppy Boy” and Wilma Bridges of Sharpsburg; maternal grandparents, Guy and Clydie Turner of Durham.
Dawn was a graduate of Southern Nash High School. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church which was founded and pastored by her grandfather, Pete Bridges. Dawn was employed by Bridgestone Americas of Wilson for six years. She enjoyed her co-workers and was a wonderful example of hard work and dedication. Dawn recently achieved certification of First Responder of which she was very proud. She was very special. It showed through her acts of kindness and thoughtful deeds. Dawn was humble and never liked to be the center of attention even though she deserved it.
Dawn leaves behind to cherish her memory, parents, Donald Bridges of Nashville and Alma Turner Bridges of Durham; and one sister, Kim Bridges Walker of Durham. She will always be in the hearts of those who loved her dearly especially her aunts and their husbands, Gloria and Keith Warrick (whom she called Mama and Daddy), Lois and George Moore, and Elaine and Billy Fuller; her many special cousins, friends, and a longtime special friend, Terri Cooke. Dawn also loved and leaves behind her special pets, Nala “Punk” and Hailey.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. George H. Moore, Sr. officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum. Visitation with the family will be from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
