Norman Andre Whitley

Norman Andre Whitley, age 72, of Rocky Mount, NC, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015. Born February 14, 1942 in Wilson County, NC, he was the son of the late Eddie Thomas Whitley and Bessie Griffin Whitley. In addition to his parents, Norman is predeceased by his daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Whitley; sisters, Esther W. Wiggins, Virginia W. Balkeum, Frances W. Edwards and Margaret W. Martin; and brothers, Clyde Whitley, David Whitley and Harvey Whitley.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Nancy Cossairt Whitley; daughter, Pam Whitley Farmer of Rocky Mount, NC and grandchildren, Renee’ Register and Anita Farmer. Andre is also survived by sisters, Ethel W. McSwan of Lamar, CO, Helen W. Swindle of Rocky Mount, NC and Mavis W. Lanier of Rocky Mount, NC and brothers, Kenneth Whitley of Rocky Mount, NC and Eddie Whitley of Rocky Mount, NC. He is survived by a very special young man, Michael Jones of Rocky Mount, NC.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC with Reverend Johnny Phillips and Reverend John Browning officiating. Burial will follow the services at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC.
