Michael, age 69, passed away on Saturday, November 16th, 2024. Known for his stubborn nature and old-school ways, he lived life on his own terms. A lover of motorcycles and working with his hands, Michael had a knack for building and gardening, leaving behind creations that reflected his unique vision and dedication.
He was deeply loved by his sister, Crystal Shearin; his nieces, Marie Register, Melinda Register, and Danielle Shearin; and his great-nieces and nephews. He was also dearly loved by his children, Romus Parker, Rosemerrie Mitchell, and Ashley Parker, along with his grandchildren and his great-grandbaby.
He shared a special bond with his very dear companion and friend, Michelle Thompson, whose support and friendship meant so much to him.
He cherished the friendships he built within his community. While relationships weren’t always easy for him, he carried good intentions and a heartfelt desire to connect in his own unique way.
His presence and the love he shared will always be remembered by those who knew him for his creativity, his love of the open road, and the impact he made on his friends and loved ones.
Visitation with family and friends will be Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 am at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
A service to honor his life will follow at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, where he will be laid to rest. Friends and family are welcome to attend both and share memories in celebration of his life.
