Mary Sue Cooper Boone

Mary Sue Cooper Boone, 95, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024. She was born December 30, 1928 in Franklin County to the late Joseph and Sue Hunt Cooper. She graduated from Parkview Nursing School in 1950. Mary worked as a register nurse at Parkview and Nash General Hospital until her retirement in 1992. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ray Boone; son, Mark Cooper Davis; brother, Joseph Berry Cooper, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter-in-law, Karen Davis; two step-daughters, Kathryn Walton (Chuck) and Rebecca Tippett (Robert); six grandchildren, Megan Davis, Michelle Mosley (Brent), Monica Walton, Ashley Evans (James), Melissa Walters (Michael), and Britney Tippett; six great-grandchildren; Savannah Barefoot (Philip), Madison Barefoot, Gracie Barefoot, Maisie Evans, Michael Walters, Jr., and Cameron Walters; a host of nieces, nephews and great- nieces and great nephews.

Visitation with family and friends will be Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral Home from 12:00-1:30 pm.
