Lorena Wheeler Alford

Lorena Wheeler Alford, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Born in Franklin County, NC on October 7, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Jimmie Richard Wheeler and Ella Lee Fulford Wheeler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willis “Bill” Oliver Alford; her brothers, Luther Richard Wheeler, Sidney Thomas Wheeler, Harold Junior Wheeler, and Thurmond Earl Wheeler; and her sisters, Elsie Wheeler Parrish and Emily Wheeler Barrow, and Ruby Wheeler Williams

Lorena was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church. She loved her family and her church family.

Lorena is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Southside Baptist Church, 4948 Carter Road, Elm City, NC 27822, with the Pastor CJ Cauble officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lorena’s memory to Southside Baptist Church, 4948 Carter Road, Elm City, NC 27822.
