Vivian “Kay” (Hood) Wethington, 78, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020. She was born December 2, 1941 in Gaston County to the late Elmer and Winona Champion Best. She loved her family, cooking, Christmas, and was known as Nana to her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by first husband Ralph Hood, father to her children; brother Eddie Best.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Roy Wethington; son Jimmy Hood; daughters Angie Flowers (Randy), and Christi Benton (Jim); step-sons Mark and Eric Wethington (Doretha); brother Wayne Best (Faye); grandchildren Randall (Caroline) and Cody Flowers, Emily, Tyler, and Mitchell Benton, Justin (Alyssa), and Kaitlyn Hawley; step-grandchildren Travis (Mandy) and Jeslyn Wethington; great-grandchildren Colton, Triston and Sutton.

Visitation with family and friends will be Sunday, October 18, 2020 from 5:30-6:45 PM with funeral service to be held 7:00 PM at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Monday, October 19, 2020 2:00PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
