Inez W Brown

Inez Williams Brown, 79, passed away, Monday, September 6, 2010 after a short illness. She was born June 19, 1931 in Wilson County. She was the daughter of the late George C. and Nellie Proctor Williams. She was the fifth of fourteen children. Inez attended West Edgecombe School. She was a member of Temperance Hall Methodist Church for over 50 years. She retired from Mason’s Department Store. Inez will be remembered by her friends and family for her Ice Box Fruit Cake, and her gardening skills. She was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. She was preceded in death by, infant baby sister and sister Lettie Roberson, three brothers, Grady Williams, Marvin Williams and Cecil Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 59 years, Linwood Brown, one son, Ray Brown and wife Sharon, one granddaughter, Tonya Brown Garland and husband Tim, one grandson, Daniel Brown and her special great-grandson, Alexander James “A.J.” Garland, five sisters, Louise W. Twine, Rachel W. Slade, Patricia W. Ayscue, Shirley W. Creekmore and Joyce W. Daughtridge, three brothers, Lester W. Williams, Bill Williams and Tim Williams.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 8, 2010 from 7:00-8:30PM Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 1:00PM at Cornerstone Funeral Home with the Rev. Kris Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
