Dottie Jean Ayscue

May 9, 1936 ~ January 30, 2021
Jean Creekmore Ayscue lived God’s divine purpose for her life for 84 years. She entered the gates of Heaven on Saturday, January 30th, 2021. Jean was born May 9th, 1936 in Nash County. She is the daughter of the late James Ervin and Lettie Jones Creekmore. Jean is preceded in death by her husbands, Mack Dean Daniels, and Larry Melvin Ayscue, Sr. She also joined in Heaven those who went before her; sister, Janet Creekmore Turner, brothers, William D. Creekmore and Jimmie E. “Bruce” Creekmore, and step-daughter, Sandra Daniels Beasley.
“Mama Jean”, as she was known by so many, leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Angela Daniels Millenbaugh and husband, Christopher of Knightdale, NC, stepson, Michael Dean Daniels and wife, Annette of Nashville, NC, and stepson, Larry Melvin Ayscue, Jr. and wife Kim of Rocky Mount, NC. Jean adored her grandchildren, Hannah Danielle and Taylor Grace Millenbaugh, and Austin Tyler Ayscue, and also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her in return.
It is evident how faith, family, and friends were of utmost importance to her. Jean was a member of Arlington Baptist Church and served the Lord for decades through teaching Vacation Bible School, cooking for various church events and families in need, playing on the church softball team, singing, and actively supporting youth events. She worked in fashion retail for years in downtown Rocky Mount, later employed with Carolina Telephone, and spent her final working years employed with the Nash/Rocky Mount School System in Child Nutrition Services. Jean received her American School Food Service certification and her Health and Nutrition certification from Nash Community College.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Franklin Manor Assisted Living in Youngsville, NC who has loved Jean and provided a place where she felt safe and cared for.
