Mr. Dorsett Alexander Beasley, 46, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina transitioned on September 3, 2024.
Dorsett departed this life on September 3, 2024. He was born on May 18, 1978 in Nashville, NC and preceded in death by his mother, Carrie Davis Beasley and his father, Linwood Williams.
Dorsett accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Social Union Baptist Church. In 1996, he graduated from Northern Nash Senior High School in Rocky Mount, NC. Dorsett had a passion for sports. He enjoyed watching basketball, football, and watching old school movies.
He often talked about the football games he played. He attended Livingstone College in 1998 and majored in Criminal Justice. Dorsett landed his career as a Youth Counselor at the YMCA in Charlotte and Salisbury, NC for 5 years. Though his time with us was brief, the depth of love and happiness he shared will forever remain in our hearts. He truly touched the lives of many people and he loved his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving son, Steven J. Beasley; two sisters: Carrie Davis (Bobby) of Rocky Mount, NC and Dutches Lee (Harold) of Capitol Heights, MD; three brothers: Luther Beasley of Washington, DC, Christopher Beasley (Charlene) of Bailey, NC, and Shawn Williams of Virginia and his children; two nephews, Robert Williams (Carol) of Rocky Mount, NC and Brandon Lucas of Fort Worth, TX; and one niece, Brandy Lucas of Washington State; one great nephew, Ellis Lucas; four great nieces: Jasmine A. Lucas, Jada A. Lucas, Faith Lucas, and Tiana G. Lucas.
A Visitation will be held for Mr. Beasley on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the Rocky Mount chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home, 325 Nash Street, Rocky Mount, NC. Funeral services will take place immediately after the visitation at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the Rocky Mount chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home. The interment will immediately follow the service at The Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
