Dorothy K Pridgen

Dorothy King Pridgen, 80, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006. She was born June 25, 1926 in Nash County, the daughter of the late Enoch and Lillie Mae Cherry King. She was devoted to all her family, and was the best Mama, Granny, and Nana anyone could ever have. She was preceded in death by her husband Zollie Pridgen; one brother, and three sisters, and one grandson Tony Pridgen.
Left to cherish her memory, daughters, Rennie Proctor of Rocky Mount, Mildred and Jeff Aaron of Charlotte, Janet and Dwayne Hanaway of Rocky Mount; two sons Tommy Pridgen of Sharpsburg, and Sherwood and Pat Pridgen of Rocky Mount of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Dawn Baker of Bailey, Cammy Pridgen of Rocky Mount, Tracy and Sim Brown of Zebulon, and Dwayne Hanaway Jr. (DJ), and Tanner Hanaway of Rocky Mount; seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Special thanks to a wonderful friend and nurse Brenda Griffin.
Funeral services will held at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Parker officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2006 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home following the service and other times at home.
