Mrs. Dorothy Creekmore Andersen

Dorothy “Dottie” Berlyn Creekmore Andersen, 86, of Sanford formerly of Wilson passed away Friday, April 17, 2026. A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 202 Kincaid Avenue N, Wilson. Interment will follow in Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Rev. Steve Strickland will officiate.

The family will receive friends Thursday morning prior to the service from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, Wilson.

Dottie is survived by her daughters, Hope Andersen (John) of Sanford. Nora Holder (Paul) of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, and Sandy Bettinger (Gary) of Sumter, South Carolina; sons, Wallace Michael Darling (Rebecca) of Denver, Colorado, Gerald Keith Darling (Jolanda) of South Bend, Indiana; grandchildren, John Andersen (Kat), Jeremy Andersen (Marie), Kyle Darling, Ashley (Anthony) Lyons, Kayleigh Darling, Michelle Darling, Keith Darling, Adam Bettinger and Joseph Bettinger (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Brody Andersen, Quentin Andersen, Freya Andersen, Carson Darling, Christian Darling, Adelynn James Darling, Alina Darling, William Darling, Jimmy Darling, Gwendolen Bettinger, Sebastian Bettinger, and Vivian Bettinger, and her sister, Evelyn Bryan of Raleigh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Andersen; parents, Robert and Nellie Creekmore; two sisters and four brothers.
