I am so very sorry for Mr. Pat’s passing. I have wonderful memories of The Wallace’s while growing up on Clayton Street. I just wish I had known earlier and could have attended the funeral. My prayers go out for Mrs. Joyce and the family.

Clarence J. “Pat” Wallace, 92, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025. He was born in Nash County on August 27, 1932 to the late George C. Wallace of Kansas and the late Mabel L. Morris of Rocky Mount. He is also preceded in death by his sister Melba Wallace Smith of Wilson. He was married to Joyce F. Wallace for 69 years on January 21, 2025.
He is survived by his son Wayne Wallace and wife Grace Wallace of Rocky Mount; his granddaughter, the apple of his eye, Dawn Wallace of Rocky Mount; one grand pup,
Bailey; nephew Louis Smith (Tammy) of Wilson; niece Ellen Brown (Ed) of Wilson and their families; half-brother Darren Wallace of Kansas; half-sister Judy Baugham of Kansas. Also, a large extended family. He will truly be missed by everyone that knew him.
Pat was very proud of serving in the US Army and loves the American Flag. Retired from Abbott Laboratories in Rocky Mount as a maintenance worker. He loved to share stories of his life and experiences. Pat was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir for many years. He loved his church and church family. He loved attending college basketball and baseball games at NC Wesleyan College (Now Wesleyan University) with Wayne pulling for the Battling Bishops. He also loved singing and listening to music especially country and gospel music, yard work, painting, and traveling. Loved going to White Lake, NC with family.
A visitation will be held at 6:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church. The service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the church with Rev. Brandon Dees officiating. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Pat’s memory to Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
