Boyce Bradley Brown, age 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Born in Wilson County, NC on September 12, 1932, he was the son of the late Isaac Ray Brown and Floried Bradley Brown. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Floyd Ray Brown; and his sister, Doris Brown Hocutt.

Boyce was an Air Force retiree of 22 years. He fought in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star, US Air Force Commendation Medal, among others. While in the Air Force he managed to keep his studies up, and attended five different colleges. After traveling the globe with family in tow, he returned to Rocky Mount and was employed by Firestone in Wilson. After 16 years with Firestone, at the age of 54, he retired early. Since retiring, he enjoyed family, church, and pursuing his hobbies. He enjoyed trips to the beach with his family, browsing flea markets, and looking at classic cars. Boyce was very proud of his military service and had much respect for fellow veterans. He had a kind heart and was always willing to help others.

Boyce is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Patsy Mellor Brown; his son, Brad Brown and wife, Michelle; his daughters, Terri Brown Denton and husband, Chris, Lisa Brown Cook and husband, Eric, all of Nashville; his four grandchildren, Emily Cook and husband, Tyler, Noah Brown, Cameron Denton, Sarah Cook; his great-grandchildren, Ava Cook and Beckham Cook; his sister-in-law, Joyce Brown, of Sharpsburg; several nieces and nephews; and one special cousin, Kay Day and her son, John.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum. The family will be available to receive friends and relatives immediately following the service in the chapel.

Entombment will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Nash Hospice for their gentleness and professionalism in his last days. Also, to Rachel Leonard who attended to his needs.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Boyce’s memory to the charity of your choice.
