Bobby Gray Brannan

Bobby Gray Brannan, 85, of Nashville, North Carolina went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 18, 2024. He was born January 1939 in Selma, North Carolina, one of five children, to Joe Rene Brannan and Fannie Ophelia (Newsome) Brannan. He was a dedicated husband to Linda Whitley Brannan and beloved father to two, Jeffrey Gray Brannan (Sonja) of Selma, North Carolina, and Patricia Brannan McClung (John) of Eureka, Illinois. He was the proud grandfather of Joshua, Alex, and Jeremy.
He graduated from high school in Johnston County, North Carolina. He was employed with CSX Railroad for 43 years. He volunteered for 20 years with Nash County Home Delivered Meals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles Brannan, his sister Alice Nowlin and grandchildren, Matthew, Jordan, and Isaac.
He is survived by his sisters Martha Carraway and Ophelia Thompson, his wife Linda, his children, and grandsons.
He will be missed dearly by all who loved and cherished him, including his friends who gathered at Hardee’s, but we are comforted by the fact that he will live for eternity in the presence of Christ our Lord.
Visitation will be held at Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1052 South First Street, Nashville, NC 27856 on Tuesday May 28th from 10:00 – 10:45 am, funeral services will be at 11:00 am May 28th at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Scott Dodson, Nashville Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Nash County Senior Center/Home Delivered Meals program.
