ROCKY MOUNT – Billie Raye Parker Evans, age 76, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024.  Born in Nash County, NC on June 10, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Norman Parker and Lottie Rachel Parker Evans. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy M. Evans, Sr.; her daughter, Tammy Raye Evans; daughter-in-law, Crystal Marlow Evans; sister, JoAnn Parker; brothers, Michael Parker, Kenneth Earl Parker and Steve Parker.

Billie had a love for life’s simple pleasures. She found joy in the beauty of nature, having vibrant gardens overflowing with colorful flowers. She was also a gifted cook and was known for her delicious southern and country cooking, and Christmas goodies. Beyond her garden and kitchen, Billie cherished the great outdoors. She enjoyed the tranquility of fishing trips, patiently waiting for the big catch. Camping adventures with loved ones were cherished times, where she shared stories and created lasting memories under the starry sky. Billie loved her family dearly and extremely proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as they were the apple of her eye. She loved nothing better than spending time with them. She touched the lives of so many people and will always be remembered with love and kindness.

Billie is survived by her son Billy Evans, Jr.; grandchildren, Amber Evans, Jenna Evans, Dylan Evans, Joshua Cadena; great-grandchildren, Peyton Edmundson and Logan Edmundson.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 661 English Road Rocky Mount, NC 27804, with Pastor Tony Bossolono officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.  A visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM prior to the service in the Chaple of Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
