Barbara Hartman Bradshaw

Barbara Hartman Bradshaw, age 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 30, 2021. Born in Nash County, NC on March 19, 1932, she was the daughter of the late William Boyden Hartman and Anna Briggs Hartman Wheeless. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Charles Martin Bradshaw; her step-father, Bernice Jarrot Wheeless; and her step-brother, BJ Wheeless.

A woman of great Christian faith, Barbara was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church. A caring and supportive wife, she was an excellent caregiver particularly to her dear husband. Barbara shared a special bond with her daughter and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and a cherished friend to many, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Angela “Marty” Donaldson and husband, Jeff, of Battleboro; her grandchildren, Martin Donaldson and wife, Bailey, and Charles Donaldson and girlfriend, Kassie; her sister, Peggy Nobles; her brother, Ronnie Hartman and wife, Edna; her step-sister-in-law, Katie Wheeless; special nieces, Luce Mac Turner and Bruce Parris; as well as many other nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Parkwood Baptist Church, 1731 Hunter Hill Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, with the Pastor John Scott officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her daughter Marty.
