Alice Ray Chappell

Alice Stanley Chappell, 85, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024. She was born May 3, 1939 in Nash County to the late Willie and Pearl Perry Stanley. Alice loved her family, her Lord, keeping children, riding horses, spending time with her lady friends, her dog Precious, and reading the bible. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Wayne Chappell; sister, Jeanette Lucas; son, Donald Glenn Chappell; grandsons, Brian Weaver and Michael Mendoza.

She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Wayne Chappell, Michael Chappell (Lisa), Roger “Bonzo” Chappell (Teresa), and Larry Chappell (Brandee); daughters, Shelia Weaver (Ronnie), and Kecia Mendoza; sister, Marlene Stancil; grandchildren, Kimberly, Amanda, Matthew, Brent, Kevin, Allison, Donald, Maria, Troy, Zachary, Taylor, Jacob, Joshua, Lindsey, and Lesley; twenty-six great-grandchildren.

Visitation with family and friends will be Sunday, January 5, 2025 from 1:00-1:45 pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home with a funeral service to be held at 2:00 pm in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
