Mr. Alen ''Bud'' Murry Pridgen

Allen “Bud” Murray Pridgen, 79, passed away May 20, 2026. He was born February 16, 1947 to the late William and Bertha Pridgen. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brothers Noah and Pete Pridgen; sister Myrtlean Ricks; brother-in-law Luke Smith. He loved to fish and was involved in the West Mount Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. Bud was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was faithfully active in his church, Edgewood Baptist Church, in Windsor, NC. Bud’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he shared. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Bud leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Cindy Pridgen; son Derek Barnhill; daughters Lisa Pridgen (Wynne) and Amanda White (Matt); grandchildren Kaitlin Pridgen, Nolan and Allie White; sisters Mary Smith and Joyce Sherrod(Roland); sister-in-law Fannie Pridgen; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 12:30pm -2:15pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home on Sunday, May 31, 2026. The service will follow at 2:30pm in the chapel. The burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Blood Cancer United www.bloodcancerunited.org.
