Zollie Lee Pridgen

Zollie Lee Pridgen, 89, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2006. He was born on September 22, 1917 in Nash County, son of the late Hardy and Mary Smith Pridgen. He was retired from Rocky Mount Mills and was an Army Veteran of WWII.
All who knew him knew he loved to tell stories of the Mill and his time in the Army. His favorite thing was his Garden.
He is preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters and one grandson Tony Pridgen.
Surviving him is his wife of 61 years, Dorothy King Pridgen; Daughters, Rennie Proctor of Rocky Mount; Mildred Aaron and husband Jeff of Charlotte; and Janet Hanaway and husband Dwayne of Rocky Mount; sons, Tommy Pridgen of Sharpsburg and Sherwood Pridgen of and Wife Pat of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Dawn Baker of Bailey, Cammy Pridgen of Rocky Mount, Tracy Brown and husband Sim of Zebulon, Dwayne Hanaway Jr. (DJ), and Tanner Hanaway of Rocky Mount, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2006 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, with visitation in the chapel from 2:30 to 4 p.m. before the service, with Pastor Gerald Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
