William Herbert Poland, Jr.

William Herbert Poland, Jr., 62, affectionately known as “Herby” to all that knew him, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021. He was born July 3, 1959 in Nash County to the late William Sr. and Norma “Grace” Strange Poland. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. Herby had a great love for the outdoors, and his heart belonged to Jesus. He was very patriotic, passionate, and loyal to his friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sons Bill and Ron Outlaw.

He leaves to cherish his memory his former wife Jeannie Poland; daughters Amanda Poland and Melinda Romero; sister Leigh Cole Poland; grandchildren William, Jacob, Natalie and Jenna Romero, Quasuan and Ezeequal Poland, Gracyonna, Gambit, and Remy Robinson; special aunt Lillian Strange; many beloved cousins- as Herby would say “You know who you are”.

Visitation with family and friends will be Friday, December 17, 2021 from 6:00-8:00PM at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 12:00PM in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
