ROCKY MOUNT – William Calhoun Vick, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. Born in Nash County, NC on May 13, 1930, he was the son of the late Hilary Peele “H.P.” Vick and Maude Ophelia Frazier Vick. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Blanche Louise Vick Knight and her husband, Eddie Mabry Knight.

A veteran of the United States Army, Billy spent some time working with the railroad before pursuing his career in financing with Blazer Financial Services and was a salesman and lease consultant for Premier Ford Lincoln Mercury in Rocky Mount until his retirement. He then partnered with his son Brian at Brian’s Cheesesteaks from 2001 until present. He was very hands on in all aspects of the day to day operations but enjoyed cooking breakfast and socializing with the customers the most. During his spare time, he found enjoyment in spending time on the golf course.

Billy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Joyce Williams Vick; his sons, William F. “Bill” Vick, and wife, Unhwa, of TX, and Brian Vick and his beautiful daughter, Palin, of Rocky Mount; his sister-in-law, Frances Daughtridge of Rocky Mount; his sister, Nancy Alford of Knoxville, TN; his brothers, Nicky Vick of Wilson, Tommy Vick of Wilson, Dennis Vick of Raleigh, and Milton Vick of Wilson.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. Carlton Cockrell officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside.
