Funeral services for Walter Daniel Shearin, 55 who died in his sleep Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Cartee of Rocky Mount. Services were held today at 2 pm from the Gay-Yost Funeral Home Chapel, Fairview Road, with the Rev. H.C. Lowder, pastor of the Arlington Street Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
He was the son of the late Lucius Alvin and Martha Louise Shearin of Halifax County.
In addition to Mrs. Cartee he is suvrived by two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Boice and Miss Georgia Ann Shearin, both of Kittery, Maine; one son, Leon Shearon of Rocky Mount; three brothers Grady and Jasper, both of Rocky Mount, and L. A. Shearin of Whiteville, NC; three sisters, Mrs. Eula Armstrong of Rocky Mount, Mrs. Mary Brantley and Miss Annie Bell Shearin, both of Raleigh; and three grandchildren.
