Voloria Ann Todd Peele Obituary
ROCKY MOUNT – Voloria Ann Todd Peele, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Born in Nash County, NC on February 16, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Randolph Todd and Catherine Valoria Williams Todd. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Kerney Thomas “Tommy” Peele and her brother, Curtis “Randy” Randolph Todd, Jr.

Voloria, a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church, exemplified unwavering devotion to her faith. Her retirement marked the culmination of a distinguished career as a nurse in the medical field, where her compassion and expertise touched countless lives. Outside the halls of healing, Voloria found solace and joy in nurturing her garden, reveling in the beauty of nature. Alongside her beloved husband Tommy, she embarked on adventures, exploring the world together. As active members of the ECU Pirate Club, Voloria and Tommy shared a passion for the college. Yet, above all titles and affiliations, Voloria was cherished as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and cherished friend to all fortunate enough to know her.

Voloria is survived by her children, Brian Peele of Nashville, Chris Peele (Shay) of Wilson, Carol Anne Peele of Rocky Mount, Cathy Bird of Rocky Mount and David Vick of Rocky Mount, her grandchildren, Ashley Peele, Devin Peele (Tayler), Dustin Peele, Kaitlyn Peele, Makayla Peele, Skyler Jackson, Sirr Albert Sharpe, and Dillan Sharpe; her great-grandchildren, Alaiyah Grace Peele, Dean Turner Peele, Arivia Mae Thorne, Brayden Thomas Sharpe, and Ivan Thomas Hernandez; her sister, Joan Calhoun; and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Voloria’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home with Pastor CJ Cauble and Pastor Tim Parker officiating.

Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Voloria’s memory to Southside Baptist Church, 4948 Carter Road, Elm City, NC 27822.
