Victoria “Vickie” Escobar was born in Brinkleyville, North Carolina on August 1, 1934 to Florine and Sam Lynch. She was the 2nd child and 2nd grandchild of Sallie and Drew Bell Richardson.
God extended his almighty hand of love and called Victoria to eternal rest. She was 89 years old. Victoria attended public school in Halifax County, NC. In 1952 Victoria married James Calman Wardrick of Louisburg, NC. This marriage was blessed with three children. Victoria was later married to Hector Escobar who lovely embraced her five children.
For the next 40 years Victoria immerse herself in becoming an activist in Prince George, MD public school system.
Victoria found her church “Home” at New Hope Baptist Church, Forestville, MD. She remained a loyal member until 1995. Vicotria returned back to North Carolina to be closer to her mother.
Victoria loved to host family and friends. Her attributes go beyond words; and mentored to many and mother to all.
Her favorite pastime was CNN News and late-night Spiritual Advisor to family, friends, and loving phone buddy MaryAnn.
Victoria was the ambassador of the holiday season, hosting the most lavish Christmas celebrations.
Victoria was preceded in death by her parents Sam Lynch & Florine Hedgepeth. Her husbands, James C. Wardrick, and Hector A. Escobar. Four siblings, Almarine, Claytise, Roberta, and Spencer. One great-grand child, Lilian Hyepatia.
Victoria leaves to cherish her memories five children. James Ronald of Rocky Mount, NC, Vernon Leon of District Height, MD, Janetta “Jean” of Bowie, MD, Rosslyn Vinay of Annapolis, MD, and Vickie Rochelle, Cambridge, Md. Three sisters, Magalean (Willie) of Rocky Mount, NC, Elaina of Fort Washington, Md, Sandra (Nathan) of Sharpsburg, NC. Four brothers, Calvin (Jeannie) of York, PA, Quinton (Linda) of Nashville, NC, Donnell (Jeri) of Hollister, NC, and Michael (Bridget) of Raleigh, NC. Nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren. Host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation with family and friends will be Friday, March 29, 2024 from 10:30-11:15 am at Cornerstone Funeral Home with a funeral service to be held at 11:30 in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
