Thomas Howard Gelo

Thomas Howard Gelo, 78, passed away October 11, 2022. He was born September 29th 1944, in Weymouth, MA, to the late Howard and Alice DeYoung Gelo. Tom was a graduate of Cedarville University and worked alongside his father at The Gelo Corporation for a number of years before starting a career in automotive sales. He was a dedicated Christian and faithfully attended church his entire life. He enjoyed cars, fishing with his sons, and making people laugh. Tom will be remembered for his faith, generosity, sense of humor, and love for his family.

He is survived by his three sons: Adam Gelo (Brooks), Lucas Gelo (Shannon), and Jared Gelo (Nicky); six grandchildren: Noah Gelo, Makenna Gelo, Zachary Gelo, Ethan Gelo, Rebecca Gelo, and Clara Gelo; his sister, Sue Gelo Clark (Dick); and his loving nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, with Rev. Richard Clark officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Saturday, October 15, 2022 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Home, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, NC 27545.
