JOHNSON CITY, T.N. – Thomas Daniel Bryant, age 78, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Born in Rocky Mount, NC on November 12, 1946, he was the son of the late Noah Daniel Bryant and Mary Catherine Hill Bryant.

A man of great faith, Thomas was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Pinetops, NC before moving to Tennessee, where he became a member of Harvest Baptist Church. Thomas was an avid fisherman and enjoyed watching Nascar racing and cheering for Jeff Gordon. But most of all Thomas loved his wife and they enjoyed travelling and taking many trips together. Thomas was a loving husband, brother-in-law, and friend. He touched the lives of so many people and will be remembered with love and kindness.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann Speight Bryant; his sister-in- law, Barbara Speight Barfield (Bruce); brother-in-law, Jimmy Lee Speight; nephews, Kenneth Barfield, Jr., Charles Andrew Speight; nieces, Amy Barfield Owens, Cheryl Speight Mastroianni, Jennifer Hemilwright, and Heather Pernell.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Thomas’s life will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 12:30 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 661 English Road Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Donnie Tolson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM prior to the service in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Thomas’s memory to Harvest Baptist Church 309 E F Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643 or Faith Baptist Church, Faith Baptist Church Rd, Pinetops, NC  27864.
