Sue Deans Sykes

Sue Deans Sykes, 90, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021. She was born February 18, 1931 to the late Earl and Annie Fulghum Deans. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Sue loved cooking Sunday dinner for her family. She was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband J.G. Sykes and son Jerry G. Sykes.

She leaves to cherish her memory daughters Gloria Anderson (Wayne) and Janet Cooke (Clint); brothers Donald Deans (Anita) and Brooks Deans (Peggy); sisters Helen Woodall and Betty Lamm; grandchildren Jennifer Adams (Jeff), Erin Davis (Chris), Paul Bell (Maggie), and Jeremy Bell (Sarah); ten great-grandchildren.

A visitation with family and friends will be Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 10:00-10:45AM with funeral service at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
