Sarah "Daphine" Privette Pridgen

ROCKY MOUNT – Sarah “Daphine” Privette Pridgen, age 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday February 17, 2023. Born in Franklin County, NC on October 31, 1927, she was the daughter of the late William Alonza Privette and Lola Gertrude Layton Privette. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Elma Lee Pridgen; her sons, Timothy Lee Pridgen, Anthony Miles Pridgen, and Barry Elmer Pridgen; her brothers, Burwell Privette, Willie Privette, Randolph Privette, Rayford Privette and Lonnie Privette; her sisters, Lynn Hall and Sally Hall; and her brother-in-law, Alton Hall.

Daphine was a faithful and devoted charter member of North Rocky Mount Church of God. She held many jobs during her lifetime. Daphine worked at the Rocky Mount City Schools cafeteria for many years. She loved to cook, work in the yard, bird watch, and travel with family friends. Daphine was also a foster parent to many children over the years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Daphine is survived by her son, Linny Dale Pridgen; her grandchildren, Clifton Lee Pridgen and wife, Monica and Katie Elizabeth Pridgen and her fiancé, Tommy Lamm; her great grandchildren, Bryson Lee Pridgen, and Abby Nicole Pridgen; her daughter-in-law, Vickie Alford Pridgen; her special niece, Barbara Thaxton and many more nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service to be celebrate Daphine’s life will be held on Tuesday February 21, 2023, at 6:00 PM at North Rocky Mount Church of God, 2413 Goldrock Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, with the Pastor Jerome Mozingo officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM immediately following the service in the Sanctuary of North Rocky Mount Church of God.

A Committal Service will take place on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Daphine’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
