Ruth R Wood

Millie Ruth Roger Wood, 87, died Sunday, May 10, 1998. She was born May 1, 1911 in Franklin County, daughter of the late Joseph E. and Cleo Tippet Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orris E. Wood. She was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church.
Survived by daughters, Lois Wood Sanders of Battleboro, Phyllis Stallings of Castalia; sons, Thomas Wood of Albany, Ga, Wayne Wood of Elm City, Dough Wood of Surry, Va, Chester Wood of Sharpsburg, Charles Wood of Rossville, Ga; twenty four grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; fourteen step-grandchildren; fourteen step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Durham and Rev. Tommy Ricks officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount or other times at 8767 Medlin Way, Rocky Mount.
