Russel Riley

Russell Riley, 80, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2003, at Nash Grove Manor. He was born July 23, 1923, in Hillsborough, N.C., to the late Levi and Mary Anderson Riley. Mr. Riley has lived in Rocky Mount since 1956. He was a member of Englewood Baptist Church. He was a member of the VFW post No.2057 and the American Legion. Mr. Riley was a veteran of WWII. He was employed with Bill Rowe Nissan since 1969 and retired three years ago. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Frederica Matthews Riley; one daughter, Marshia Riley of Rocky Mount; and one grandson, James Russell Riley of San Diego, Calif.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Bowling Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Bowling Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Taylor and Rev. Milton Little officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
