Obituary for Mrs. Rosa Lee Wilkins Winstead
Mrs. Rosa Lee Wilkins Winstead, age 93, of Raleigh, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Wellington Nursing Home with part of her family at her side.

Born July 14, 1917 in Johnson County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Adam Nicholas and Rebecca Elisabeth Tyner Wilkins.

Mrs. Winstead was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her life was centered around her family, and she especially enjoyed all her grandchildren. She was fun loving, enjoyed music of all genres, and was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, NC.

She is survived by her children, Edward (JE) Winstead (Teresa), Annis Perry (Ollie), Carolyn Barnes (Ray), Tina Long, Faye Hinkleman (Wally), Shirley Amos, and James (Jim) Wiggs (Sandy);23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Cecil Winstead; a son, Jerry Cecil Winstead; a grandson, Cary Lynn Smith; and all six of her siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in the Chapel of Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home. Dr. Jeff Roberts will officiate. Burial will be at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 PM on Monday evening, June 13, 2011, at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that if your mother is still living send her flowers instead, or memorials can be made to The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, or The Alzheimer’s Association.
