Robert Thomas Overby

Robert “R.T.” Overby, 84, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023. He was born June 3, 1938 in Halifax County to the late Jeanette Harris Hux and Step-dad, George A. Hux. R.T. loved his family, hunting, piddling, shooting, and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a jack of all things, master of none.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 58 years, Evelyn Overby; daughter, Robin Overby Ward (Jeff); two grandchildren, Tyler and Gage Ward.

Visitation with family and friends will be Friday, June 2, 2023 from 1-1:45pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Rev. Clay Leonard officiating. Entombment will be at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will accept visitors other times at the home.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Faith Christian School Athletic Department.
