Mr. Phillip Dean Griffin

Phillip Dean Griffin of Rocky Mount, NC passed away at 80 years of age on Friday June 20th, 2025. He was born on June 2, 1945, in Franklin County to the late Melvie Collins Griffin and Hallie Griffin.
Phil retired from the city of rocky mount after 30 years and served in the NC Army National Guard. After retirement he enjoyed working part time at Brekenridge Retirement Center. He also enjoyed woodworking, building, and fishing but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Peggy Bachelor Griffin; twin sisters, Barbara Faye, and Karen Kay Griffin; sister, Joanne Tharrington; brothers, Harold Griffin, Danny Griffin, and Randy Griffin.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Jennifer Griffin Anderson, and son in law Alex Anderson IV; grandson Reagan Dean Anderson; granddaughter Elizabeth Caroline Anderson, sisters Jean Dickens, Doris Thompson and Hope Lewis, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Special thanks to his nephew, Ryan Griffin (Angel) and their girls; and his niece Tammy Harrell Peele, for all their help, love, and support over the years.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will follow the service at the graveside.
