Patricia Ann Proctor

Patricia Watson Proctor, age 78, passed away peacefully at her home Monday morning, June 19, 2017. She was born on August 5, 1938 to Johnnie and Estelle Watson. In addition to sharing her love with her family as a homemaker, Patricia shared her talents in the public workforce as an employee of S. H. Kress and Company; Benvenue School, as school secretary; and Donnelly Marketing. She also enjoyed painting, gardening, and reading and was a faithful member of Shenandoah Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Thomas Watson; James Robert Watson; and Donald Ray Watson; and great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Foster.

Patricia leaves a lifetime of cherished memories for her husband of sixty-one years, Marcus Boyd Proctor Sr.; daughters, Amy (Earle) Sykes, and Lynn (Dennis) Whaley; and son, Boyd (Raquel) Proctor, all of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Jennifer Brigman, Shelly Sykes, Blake Proctor, Laura (Ricky) Skinner, Jay (Adriann) Bryant, and Taylor Whaley; great-grandchildren, Alisha, Seraph, Briceson, Judah, Catherine, and A.J.; sisters, Nellie Vernon of Rocky Mount, Carolyn Terrell of Leeds, AL; brother, John Alvin (Lois) Watson, of Rocky Mount; and sisters-in-law, Brenda Watson of Wilson, and Janice Watson of Virginia Beach.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, June 22 at 4:30 pm at Shenandoah Baptist Church, 3894 Shenandoah Drive, Rocky Mount, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to special caregivers, Kim Williams, Cara Thompson, Paige House, Arielle Marlin, Mary Beth Harrell, Lynn McAuliffe, and Laura Skinner for their excellent care and encouragement during Mrs. Proctor’s extended illness.
