Obituary for Michael “Mike” Douglas Wooten
Michael “Mike” Douglas Wooten passed away Tuesday March 26, 2019. He was born October 18, 1960 in Edgecombe County to the late Herbert Allen Wooten Sr. and Geraldine Vick Wooten. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Brenda Horne.
He graduated in 1979 from Rocky Mount Senior High and was the Owner of Mike’s Homes, Inc. until retirement in 2013. Mike was an avid NC State Wolfpack fan, who enjoyed fishing, spending time at the beach and tried his best to keep up with his 2 grandsons who were his pride and joy.
Mike is survived by his wife of 32 years, Daphnne Braziel Wooten, son Travis Wayne Moss and wife Tammy, grandsons, Tanner and Trenton Moss and brother Herbert Allen Wooten Jr. and wife Patsy.
Visitation with family and friends will be on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 10:00am – 11:00am at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Nashville, NC 27856. Immediately following at 11:00am there will be a memorial service and celebration of Mike’s life with Rev. Jerry Braziel officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Family will be gathering other times at the home of Travis and Tammy Moss at 5473 Lake Vista Ct., Rocky Mount, NC 27803.
