Mrs. Mary Ruth Mooneyhan Radford, Peggy, 82, passed from this world into her heavenly home on Thursday, April 04, 2013.
She was born on September 1, 1930 in Nash County, North Carolina.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James Porter Mooneyhan and Rosaleigh Ramsey, 3 brothers; James, Lloyd and Henry Mooneyhan, 1 sister; Margaret Winstead and husband, Fred I Radford.
Peggy’s main love was her family, her children and being a housewife. She loved working in the garden and growing her flowers and tomatoes. She loved the birds and loved fishing at the water. While living in Hertford, she helped start the volunteer fire department. We had plenty of fish fries and bake sales.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Larry H Smith of Rocky Mount and her daughter, Donna Travis of Oregon, grandchildren; Joy M Rainville, Shane E Travis, Christin L Totten, great grandchildren; Danielle Moss, Breana Yenior, Elizabeth Rainville, Christian Rainville all of Oregon.
She will also be missed by her friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, 04-11-2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Johnson Funerals and Cremations. Interment will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, 04-10-2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
