Marvin Earl Keel

ROCKY MOUNT – Marvin Earl Keel, age 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Born in Craven County, NC on December 3, 1937, he was the son of the late William Earl Keel and Martha Marie Anderson Keel. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Martha Marie Keel Fussel; and his brother-in-law, Harold Dean Fussell, Sr.

Marvin had a deep affection for Jesus. His love for his family was boundless, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids who held a special place in his heart. Marvin’s unwavering dedication to spreading the message of salvation through Christ led him to distribute paper tracks. He was a cherished member of the North Rocky Mount Church of God, where he had been a faithful member for many years.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mary Vick Keel; his sons, Robert Earl Keel of Vanceboro and Danny Dean Keel of Washington; his granddaughter, Dorsey Keel; his great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Dixon and Alexander Keel; and his niece, Susan Cooper Fussell and husband, Dean.

A Graveside Service to celebrate Marvin’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Pastor Jerome Mozingo officiating. The family will be available to receive friends and relatives immediately following the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marvin’s memory to North Rocky Mount Church of God, 2413 Goldrock Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
