Martha K Jones

Martha K. Jones, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, March 20, 2014. She was born in Edgecombe County September 8, 1924 to the late John Walter and Annie Evans Kennedy. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Jones; her brothers, Charlie, Aaron, and Bill Kennedy and sisters, Sue Lindsey, Maggie Johnson and Annie Mae Williams.
She attended Living Faith Fellowship Church and was a loving, Christian woman.
“Our mother was the greatest gift to us, patient and kind. She loved unconditionally and was all we’d ever hoped to be. May she rest in peace with the Lord eternally.”
She is survived by her sons, Charles Jones and wife, Marsha; Ronnie Jones, James Jones; daughters Diane Patterson, Debbie Carpenter and husband, Jeff, Patricia Dawes and husband, Keith, Doris Moore; sisters, Doris Griffin, Louise Shearin, Evelyn Summerlin; twenty grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Taylor
s Chapel Church, 1933 Sandy Cross Rd., Nashville with Charles Medlin officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm Saturday prior to the service.
