Mae Frazier

NASHVILLE – Mae “Granny Mae” Ferrell Frazier, age 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Born in Nash County, NC on October 19, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Herman Ferrell and Lala Joyner Ferrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Percy Louis Frazier; her brother, Bob Ferrell; her sister, Linda Cockrell; her son-in-law, Edward “Eddie” Earle Coker; and her special friend, H.B. Gardner.

Mae was known to everyone as “Granny Mae”. She was a wise business woman, shown by the fact that she was the founder and operator of Towel Town for many years. Granny Mae was a member of Arlington Baptist Church for 59 years where she graciously served in many capacities. She had a second home in Nash County with a pond where she loved taking care of her ducks. Granny Mae was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Most of all, she was a wonderful friend, and her heart and spirit will forever be remembered.

Granny Mae is survived by her son, Mike Frazier and wife, Melissa, of Rocky Mount; her daughter, Cindy Frazier Coker, of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Michael L. Frazier, Kellie Fletcher, Christin Coker Brantley and husband, Scott, and their son, Wyatt Brantley, and Edward “Justin” Coker and his daughter, Sara Dawes; her sisters, Nancy Braswell, Kay Redding, and Ann McCorquodale; and many other great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Granny Mae’s life will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation

Services with Pastor Mike Stamper officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, February 5, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
