Lori Ayscue Phillips

Lori Ayscue Phillips, age 67, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 22, 2022. Born in Vance County, NC on August 28, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Alfred Thomas Ayscue and Hazel Buchanan Ayscue.

Lori had a fondness for all animals, but particularly cats. She had a servant’s heart, always taking care of her family and friends when in need, whether it was working or simply providing caring guidance to those around her. Lori took great enjoyment spending time at the beach with family, bird watching and fishing, simply being outdoors. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, niece and friend, she will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Lori’s is survived by her son, Brandon “Chase” Phillips (Giovanna) of Wendell; her sister, Deborah “Debbie” Creech of Rocky Mount; her grandsons, Isaac Phillips and Jordan Phillips; her aunt, Ellie Collins; her uncle, Thomas Buchanan (Grace); and a host of nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Lori’s Life will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Dr. Jody Wright officiating. A brief visitation with the family will follow the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home until 12:30 PM.

A Private Family Inurnment Service will take place at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
