Loleta K. Davis

Friday, May 20, 2022, our sweet Moma went home and is now face to face with her Lord and Savior. She was born January 4, 1927 in Edgecombe County NC to the late Andrew and Margaret Long Kennedy. Blessed with ninety-five wonderful years, she was full of life, laughter and a genuine love for people. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. God blessed her with the gift of encouragement. She consistently ministered to others by praying, sending cards and making phone calls. She stayed on the move and would often be found crocheting toboggans, pulling weeds in her flowers or picking up sweet gum balls in her yard. Family was the center of her life and her unconditional love and caring presence will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jasper Davis and a daughter Barbara Patterson. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Donnie Davis; three daughters, Diane Glasgow (Miles), Jan Everette (Tim), and Jerri Griswold (John); one brother, Bobby Kennedy (Sheila); two sisters, Grace Barnes and Jean Adams; grandchildren, Sherry Flora (Jamie), Tim Glasgow, Kalom Everette (Amy), Michael Everette, and Susan Kriser (Jade), Johnathan Griswold (Erin), Maggie Griswold, and Rachel Griswold; great-grandchildren, Trent Flora (Patty), Liz Flora, Jackson Griswold, Hazel Grace Owens, Theodore Owens, Jasper Griswold, and Peyton Kriser.

Visitation with family and friends will be held Monday, May 23, 2022 from 6:30-8:00 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral home with Rev. Brandon Dees officiating. A private burial will be for family only.
