Linda W Jackson

Linda “Sissy” Woodcock Jackson, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. Born in Nash County, NC on April 4, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Charlie “Buddy” Allen Woodcock and Lucille Matthews Woodcock. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Jackson; granddaughter, Alex; and brother-in-law, Woody Reeves.

Sissy built many long lasting relationships while working at Nash Day Hospital for over 20 years. She was a member of Sunset Avenue Baptist Church. She loved beach music and enjoyed shagging. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Sissy will be dearly missed but will never be forgotten.

Sissy leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Duchess Pittman Edwards and husband, Robert of Greer, SC; step-daughters, Susan Tweedy and husband, Scott, of Nashville; and Patti Anderson and husband, Bill, of Tarboro. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brayden and Gracie; brother, Victor “Bookie” Woodcock and wife, Debra, of Rocky Mount; sister, Rita Woodcock Reeves of Swansboro; several nieces and nephews and many cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Steve Roberson officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM prior to the service.
