Mrs. Laura Ann Smith

Laura Ann Smith, 81, passed away February 1, 2026. She was born December 30, 1944 to the late Roy and Nettie Wiggins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers Alton, Jack and Jessie Wiggins; sister Faye Varnell.

Laura is survived by her son Phillip Taylor Jr.; daughters Angela Taylor, Patricia Richardson, Charlene Newsome; grandchildren Cathy Baines, Sirena Godwin, Lorenza Webb, Maurice Richardson Jr., Alex Taylor, Ashley Pruden, Andres Taylor, Kimberly Bryant, CJ Newsome, Brad Taylor, Josh Taylor; great grandchildren, Kaylee Taylor, Jace and Eren Pruden, Asher Taylor, Noah Jones, Connor Wiggins, Finley and Ellie Newsome,  A’Nautica Webb. Amaura Richardson, Kassidy Richardson, James Bunn, Paisley Taylor, Blaire Taylor, and Landon Taylor; brothers Leroy and Marvin Wiggins; sisters Jean Mills, Doris Tyer, Joyce Wiggins and Louise Chauncey.

A visitation will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with the service following at 2 pm in the chapel. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
