Larry Hampton Jordan was born April 20, 1962. He was 63 years old. He was born and raised in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Larry passed June 14 ,2025 at Nash General Hospital.
Larry was the son of Betty Lou Adams and Alvin Hampton Jordan. He was a brother to Michael Jordan and Helen Jordan. He was an uncle to Allen Jordan and great uncle to AJ Jordan ( Serenity Jordan), Suzanne Jordan and Michael Jordan. He was also a great great uncle to Oaklee Wadsworth and Lakelynn Jordan. Larry was a friend to many and he was loved by many.
Larry is remembered by his brother Michael Jordan and his sister Helen Jordan. His nephew Allen Jordan and great nephew AJ Jordan and Michael Jordan. His great niece Suzanne Jordan and Serenity Jordan. His great great nephew Oaklee Wadsworth and His great great niece Lakelynn Jordan. His Aunt Jeanette Collie, Aunt Evelyn, Uncle Harry, Uncle Monroe Turner, Uncle Normom Jordan, and Uncle Jonny Gray Turner. His cousins Chris Collie, Kim Collie, Gail, Susie and Marion.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Adams, Nell Baker, and Alvin Jordan; His aunt Loretta Hedgepeth; cousins, Judy Collie and Sandra Collie.
Larry loved being outside and raking anything he saw. He loved to fish whenever he could and he loved some music. Larry would always have the house jamming with Lynyrd Skynyrd. You would always feel like you were at a concert when you were with him. He enjoyed playing the guitar and the harmonica everyday. Larry quit drinking 26 years ago. He joined AA and that was a big part of his life. He always enjoyed going to his meetings and he had a celebration at AA to honor his 26 years. He was given a coin and was so proud of getting it and making it so far. Paige was a big help to Larry while he was in AA and he became part of his family.
Larry made his own family with everyone he was close to. He made a family with his friend and everyone at AA was his family. Larry is loved by many and will be greatly missed. Everyone had a place in Larry’s heart, he loved everyone and always made sure to talk to them throughout the day.
A visitation with family and friends will be Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 7:00-8:30pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A funeral will be held Friday, June 20, 2025 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Moss officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
