Ken Sutton

en Sutton, age 77, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. Born in Nash County, NC on November 9, 1944, he was the son of the late Kenneth Manget Sutton, Sr. and Hattie Mildred Cottle Sutton. He was also preceded by his fur babies, Kelcey and Lacey.

Ken was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, he became a North Carolina Highway Patrolman until he received his Real Estate license and became a Realtor. He later returned to his investigative roots until his retirement as a Private Investigator. Ken enjoyed spending his free time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Ken is survived by his wife, Cheryl Pittman Sutton of Rocky Mount; his daughter, Amanda Hooks (Jay) of Rocky Mount; his grandchildren, Mason Hooks of Rocky Mount, Jackson Hooks of Rocky Mount, and Abbie Hooks of Rocky Mount; his close friends, Hal Fryar, Richard Minor, Bob Carr, Lee Pullen, Tommy Parker, Todd Spikes, and Thomas Spikes; and his fur baby, Brandy Leigh.

A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Hal Fryar officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
