Resided in: Roanoke Rapids, NC

Kelton Louis Stone, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, November 29, 2025 with his loving family by his side.

He was born August 4, 1935 to Bennett R. and Berta J. Stone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Sandy Carol Stone and Cynthia Stone Fisher.

Kelton is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-nine years, Elsie Stone; daughters, Deborah Turner of Texas and Kella Gregory and husband, Tom, of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren, John Turner (Fiancée, Diane Morales), Steven Turner (Jennifer), Melissa Crusenberry (Gerry), Bridgette Fisher, Thomas Gregory (Amy), Shelby Flynn (Erron) and Starla Gregory, Casea Bunn (Olsen), Kelsie Simmons; along with thirteen great-grandchildren.

My father that I always called “Daddy” loved his wife dearly and loved his children deeply. He loved to socialize and he never knew a stranger. He always made people happy and full of laughter. He was the biggest “flirt”, but he always told everyone how much he loved my mother and how beautiful she was to him.

There were many things he really liked doing: cutting grass, wood working and fishing, but the thing he enjoyed most was eating seafood.

He loved being a Mason and upholding his leadership. He was a Past Master of the Morningstar Lodge #85 in Nashville, Royal White Hart #0002 in Halifax and Cape Hatteras #0698 in Buxton. He knew in his heart he was upholding the Mason’s legacy to protect the people and help guide them to God.

Masons believe to focus on personal development and morality guided by principals of brotherly love and truth and my father believed all of these things with his whole heart.

He also enjoyed seeing the Eastern Star Sisters who spoiled him and my mother with their delicious cooking.

My father was in the United States Army National Guard in Nashville, NC as a supply sergeant. I am so proud of his service of twelve years.

He was a loving and caring father and he will be deeply missed by his wife and children but we will always remember him for his many accomplishments. “I love you, Daddy, Always and Forever”

A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4544 Dortches Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
